Short Hair Styles

Halle Berry, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Aniston, and now, even Anne Hathaway sport short hair styles. Of course, you don’t need to be a celebrity to look great in short hair. Whether you’re looking for a way to spunk up for summer or chop away winter blues, short hair styles are a perfect way to alter your look and experiment with something new.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the hottest short hair styles in vogue right now:

1. The Pixie
Celebrity inspiration: Anne Hathaway
The pixie has been a long favourite among celebrities. It takes a certain measure of confidence to carry off the pixie, which has hair cropped as short as a boy’s, but it can give you a distinctively different look. A pixie cut is also a great way to beat off summer, and the cut looks great with casual, summer clothes.

2. Short Bangs
Celebrity inspiration: Katy Perry
Katy Perry has always been one to experiment with her hair, but short bangs remain her signature style. As far as short hair styles go, this is one that looks more appropriate on younger women.

3. Rough Crop
Celebrity Inspiration: Kiera Knightley
Kiera Knightley turned heads when she appeared on the red carpet with a very rough, short crop. This cut requires cheekbones as sharp as Kiera’s to look good, but is definitely one hairstyle that can set you apart from the crowd.

Taking care of short hair styles is incredibly easy (one reason why women do take the plunge). Gone are the days of endless moisturising, oiling, shampooing and conditioning. Short hair styles need not be washed as often, are easier to style. A few quick tips:

1. Use less conditioner. Short hair styles do not need quite as much conditioner as long hair. Extra conditioner can make hair appear flat.

2. Use less products. You don’t need as many lotions and conditioners for short hair as longer hair.

3. Keep hair trimmed. Short hair styles need regular trimming to look good instead of unruly.

Short hair styles are extremely easy to take care of. They set you apart from the crowd and can help you stay cool in summers. They can also complement your face if you have sharp, angular looks. Nothing looks better on casual clothes as short hair.

On the downside, short hair styles do not look good on everyone. They also require a lot of maintenance and regular trimmings to look good. These are two reasons why women often stay away from cropping their hair short.
